Dutch police publish voice reenactment of suspect in ShinyHunters-linked Odido hack
Dutch police have released a reenactment including the suspect's real voice, seeking help identifying a man behind the ShinyHunters-linked Odido breach.- Dutch police are asking the public to identify a Dutch-speaking man whose voice is heard in a reenactment of a social engineering call against telecom provider Odido.
- The suspect posed as an IT colleague when calling Odido's customer service, the call that allegedly led to ShinyHunters stealing data of over 6 million customers.
- Police attribute the breach to a Dutch gang using the ShinyHunters name; 6.2 million customers' data was exposed and a €1 million ransom demand was refused.
- The Odido case is cited in a new Dutch prosecutors' and police report estimating 2.5 million people in the Netherlands fell victim to cybercrime or online fraud in 2025.
